BN LEADERS BRIEF DPM ON GE PREPARATION.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who is also deputy Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman was briefed by leaders of the four state BN component parties here last night on their level of preparedness for the next parliamentary polls (or GE13).The secretary-general of each of the four parties gave the deputy BN chairman the latest update on their GE13 preparationwhile the party presidents responded to queries from Muhyiddin.The dinner meeting with Muhyiddin was held at the PBB headquarters in Jalan Bako here.There was no discussion on seats and candidates during the discussions as it was focused on how the state BN would tackle issues faced by them in all parliamentary seats.The four state BN parties are Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB); Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP).Presently the state BN holds 29 of the 31 parliamentary seats with the other two, namely Bandar Kuching and Sibu being represented by DAP.Of the total, PBB was allocated 14 seats followed by SUPP (seven), PRS (six) and SPDP (four).Present at the meeting were state BN chairman Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud who is also PBB president; SUPP president Dato Sri Peter Chin; PRS president an Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing and SPDP president Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom.UMNO information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan also attended the meeting.Muhyiddin is in town for three days starting yesterday for his walkabout at various places here apart from meeting State BN leaders.
