PROTON: THIS 6 YEARS NAJIB PERFORMING NEVER ACHIEVED BY MAHATHIR IN HIS ENTIRE 22 YEARS
Mahathir's blog post titled "PROTON" shows there is indeed truth to the saying that insanity is defined as repeating the same things over and over again but expecting a different result.
Despite 32 years of trying and failing with him at the helm, Mahathir still wants Proton to remain status quo and is unwilling to give it a chance to survive, break free from the constraints of our small domestic car market and spread its wings internationally with a joint-venture partner.
He has again attacked PROTON's plan to bring in a joint-venture partner. Specifically, he said this will cause the vendors and suppliers of components will close shop resulting in "lots of workers losing their jobs."
It appears that the suppliers and vendors to PROTON continues to be Mahathir's main concern. In a previous post in October, Mahathir had complained that his businessmen friends were not given supplier contracts by PROTON.
Does Mahathir continue to insist that the welfare of his supplier friends who have gotten rich over the decades from PROTON are more important than the survival of PROTON.
Mahathir insists that Malaysia re-impose heavy protection to Proton. It appears that more than three decades of forcing Malaysia to purchase over-priced and low specifications cars while driving up the loan burden of millions of Malaysians is not enough.
7. Why should supplier friends of Mahathir be saved by continue to burdening millions of Malaysians?
8. Due to his personal dendam that is consuming him, Mahathir now wants to unfairly blame PM Najib for Proton's problems.
9. Mahathir is reminded that the government no longer owns Proton. It is owned by DRB Hicom owned by his friend Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar who bought the controlling stake from Khazanah in the year 2012 for RM1.2 billion.
10. According to Pribumi leader A Kadir Jasin's Malaysia Business magazine, Mokhzani Mahathir was number 9th richest Malaysian in the year 2014 with a personal fortune of RM4.2 billion.
11, If Mahathir truly believes he can save Proton, he should ask DRB Hicom to sell Proton to his son. Even after paying the RM1.2 billion original purchase price, Mokhzani will still have RM3 billion to inject into Proton to grow its business.
This will allow Mokhzani to distribute Proton cars on top his current Porsche cars distribution business.
Contrary to Mahathir's repeated misleading claims, Malaysia was not known as an Asian Tiger during his 22 year reign.
The Asian Tigers then refereed to South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore due to their economic growth rates which were consistently higher than Malaysia during his 22 years in power.
At that time however, Malaysia was known as a Asian Tiger Cub country, not Asian Tiger, along with Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam
Since Najib's Economic Transformation Programme was launched, Malaysia has registered higher economic growth every single year from 2011 to 2016 than these four Asian Tigers . For the year 2017, Malaysia is again expected to register a higher economic growth rate.
This 6 years stretch of outperforming the 4 tigers is a feat that was never achieved by Mahathir in his entire 22 years.
