CM to receive honorary doctorate from Unimas

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem will be conferred an honorary Doctorate in Environmental Conservation by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) at its 19th convocation to be held from Nov 14.
Unimas vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suadi said the doctorate would be conferred on Adenan in recognition of his enormous and significant contributions to conserving the state environment.
For instance, he had increased the areas designated as national parks in the state, he told a media conference here today.
Adenan would receive it from the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sarawak Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, who is Unimas Chancellor, on the first day of the four-day convocation ceremony at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Putra (DeTAR PUTRA) hall.
Mohamad Kadim said 3,919 graduates would receive their scrolls at this year’s convocation ceremony.
“They include 46 doctorate, 301 Masters and 3,572 bachelor degree holders,” he added. –Bernama
