*RCI on BNM forex scandal summary for Monday 21st Aug 2017*

1. Mahathir's lawyer made a lot of noise asking the RCI panel for documents today so that lawyers do not need to interrupt the RCI panel tomorrow. He was denied, which made him even more insistent. He was then asked to sit down.

Again, Mahathir's lawyer buat hal.

2.  Former Bank Negara assistant governor Abdul Murad Khalid.revealed that Anwar said that if the real losses was revealed to public, he would have to resign as Finance Minister - this suggest that there was an attempt to hide the figure.

3. Testimony from various witnesses including Murad, former Bank Negara staff Abdul Aziz Abdul and former Bank Negara internal auditor Ahmad Hizzad Baharuddin  reveal that the losses amount to at least RM31.5 billion.

4. It was revealed by Aziz that the loss was only reported to the Bank Negara's board of governors and not revealed in the BNM official reports and balance sheet - suggesting another attempt to hide the figures.

5. BNM had wanted a close hearing because several of the reports on the BNM forex losses were classified as OSA then by Mahathir and Anwar's govt - suggesting another attempt to cover-up.

However, the RCI declined the request and said the findings on those OSA documents will be made public in the hearings.

6. The RCI panel concluded in their day's summary that the losses were at least RM31.5 billion. This figure is almost one quarter of Malaysia's entire GDP of RM135 billion in 1991 - which is really unimaginable in terms of the scale.

However, Mahathir's lawyer again protested at this end-of-day summary saying that it is still too early to conclude.

Mahathir's lawyer buat hal lagi.

Other than being disruptive in the RCI hearings, Mahathir's lawyers have tried to suspend the hearings multiple times already using the courts.

What is there to hide from Mr #Everything2Hide ?

On top of finding how it happened and who allowed it to happen, the RCI will also find out who was responsible for the cover-up to parliament, to cabinet and to the public.

That's it for today.

1.      The ‘Nothing to Hide 2.0’ forum was organised and managed by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), and attended by its leadership and supporters. PPBM was entirely responsible for the event, so to blame the pandemonium on UMNO is an attempt by the opposition to cover up the shameless action of its own members.

2.      The reality is that opposition supporters present were upset with Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s inability to answer questions at the forum on scandals during his rule, such as his jailing of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Memali killings. The ‘Nothing to Hide 2.0’ forum instead became an ‘Everything to Hide’ forum.

3.      As everyone knows, and as became clear at the event, Pakatan Harapan is fundamentally divided. What else could be expected from a coalition that has been cobbled together as a marriage of convenience by former enemies who did everything to destroy each other for decades.

4.      The wild allegations blaming UMNO and the Prime Minister by Dato' Seri Azmin Ali and other Pakatan leaders are false, reckless and unbecoming. It is a clear attempt to divert attention from the disintegration of PPBM, and yet another example of the opposition’s reliance on creating hate and anger against the government at every possible opportunity.

5.      If Pakatan is unable to even organise its own forums without chaos, we can only imagine what they would do to Malaysia. It is clear that it would be a disaster for the country if the DAP-led opposition assumed power at the next General Election.

6.      The authorities will investigate the incident and take the necessary action as provided by the law. This Government under the leadership of the Prime Minister will continue to focus on the economic welfare, social wellbeing and security of all Malaysians.

Press Statement on Research Mission to London

The research mission to London by the team led by me, has been very productive. The team members’ knowledge and understanding of the historical facts relevant to the constitutional issues encompassed in the ongoing Devolution of Power process, has been enhanced through research and study of the documents which originated from Sarawak before Malaysia Day but classified by the Colonial Administration as “secret” or “confidential.”These documents formed which is termed the “Migrated Archives” have been “declassified” by United Kingdom Government and stored in the British National Archives. These documents are no longer in the custody of the State Government after Malaysia Day.

These documents pertaining to:-

(i) the formation of Malaysia, including the minutes of meetings of the Inter-governmental Committee (IGC) leading to the publication of the IGC Report;

(ii) the reasons and objectives of the making of the Sarawak (Alteration of Boundaries) Order 1954 by the Queen in Council, for the determination of the boundaries of Sarawak’s land, sea, and continental shelf limits prior to Malaysia Day; and

(iii) British Government Cabinet Papers relating to the Cobbold Commission’s report and its views on the granting Sarawak Independent on the formation of the new Federation of Malaysia.

2. Copies of these documents have been obtained by the Team from the British National Archives and from the Commonwealth Library and Archive at Marlborough House in London. The Government is studying these documents to ascertain the basis for the recommendations contained in the IGC Report of the constitutional safeguards for Sarawak and what further action need to be taken in order to have them fully implemented under Article VIII of the Malaysia Agreement if they had not been already incorporated in the Federal Constitution or by executive, legislative or other action since Malaysia Day.

3. The documents on the Continental Shelf confirm the ownership rights of the States to the natural resources in the seabeds and subsoils in the Continental Shelf within the boundaries of the State as defined in the said Order in Council.

4. The documents found by the Team will add strength to State's position in the discussions with Federal Government on Devolution of Power, and towards resolution of various constitutional matters under deliberation in these discussions.

5.  On the Devolution of Power , on 25 July 2017, there was a meeting of the Steering Committee co-chaired by the Foreign Minister Dato Seri Anifah Aman (from Sabah) and the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dato Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, to deliberate on the Report by the Technical  Committee on DOP, headed by the federal Attorney-General. The State Government was represented at this meeting by a team led by the State Attorney General. This process of resolving the constitutional as well as financial issues, is therefore, an ongoing exercise. The Mission to London serves to strengthen the State’s case in this important phase of the discussion on Devolution of Powers with the Federal Authorities.

6.  The State Government would endeavour to obtain from the British National Archives, documents in the previously classified files migrated from Sarawak to custody of the United Kingdom Government’s control, before Malaysia Day so that the State can also have possession of these important documents, particularly those in relation to the grant of oil mining concessions, revenue and financial matters, control of shipping and marine fisheries in Sarawak waters, administration of education, labour and public health. These documents, generated during the Colonial Administration will provide a better understanding on how these subject-matters were handled by before Independence.

Menang di Shah Alam, Menanglah Di Selangor

Diam Azmin Ali semalam bila Datuk Seri Najib laungkan slogan "Rampas Selangor, bermula di Shah Alam" ketika merasmikan mesyuarat UMNO Bahagian Shah Alam.

Mereka menukar Menteri Besar sampai terpaksa buat Pilihan Raya Kecil (PRK).

Hanya undi sahaja mampu kembalikan semula maruah negeri Selangor.

SPRM Perlu Siasat Aset Mahathir

Hanya setakat tuduhan semata-mata.

SPRM kena siasat.

Sedap Mahathir "duk mengata kat" orang, dia sendiri punya harta "mau sembunyi bawah karpet" ka?
