The 11 candidates recommended by Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) for the coming state election have been accepted by Tan Sri Adenan Satem .
The Chief Minister announced the candidates at a brief press conference after a meet-the-people session at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on Tuesday.
Among them are four new faces - Christopher Gira, 45, for Tamin, Wilson Nyabong Ijang, 57 (Pelagus), Chuk Pai, 47 (Murum) and Majang Renggie, 57 (Samalaju).
The others are incumbents Tan Sri James Masing, who is also PRS president, for Baleh, Snowdan Lawan (Balai Ringin), Datuk Mong Dagang (Bukit Begunan), Malcom Mussen (Batang Ai), Alexander Vincent (Ngemah), Datuk John Sikie (Kakus) and Liwan Lagang (Belaga).
"These are part of my team of Barisan Nasional candidates who have been accepted by me from PRS," Adenan said.
According to Adenan, he would make similar announcements for other component parties, including direct Barisan candidates, "when the time comes".
He declined to comment on the ongoing tussle for seats between SUPP, SPDP and their breakaway parties of UPP and Teras, except to reiterate that the matter would be resolved before nomination.
Meanwhile, Masing thanked Adenan for confirming the PRS candidates and pledged to return all 11 seats to Barisan.
