Online report of Sarawak BN leaders being barred from Selangor ‘total fabrication’: Dr Xavier

KUCHING: Selangor’s Seri Andalas assemblyman Dr Xavier Jayakumar denied an online report that the Selangor state government would enforce laws to prohibit Sarawak BN leaders from entering Selangor during the Sungai Besar by-election.
When contacted by The Borneo Post today, Dr Xavier, who is PKR vice president, said the news was a ‘total fabrication’ as part of the ‘psywar’ by BN to discredit the Selangor state government and Pakatan Harapan in view of the upcoming Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by elections.
“The news is not true. BN is scared of losing both by-elections in Sungai Besar (Selangor) and Kuala Kangsar (Perak). They have already started the psywar but it will not affect us because we have started working for both the by-elections.”
The two seats fell vacant following the deaths of Deputy Plantaton Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Noriah Kasnon and Malaysian Palm Oil Board chairman Datuk Wan Mohammad Khairil Anuar Wan Ahmad in a helicopter crash on May 5.
According to the online report believed to be operated by Umno-linked cybertroopers, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali would be enforcing laws to prohibit any Sarawak BN leader from entering Selangor as retaliation on the Sarawak state government’s action in barring 40 Pakatan Rakyat leaders from entering Sarawak to campaign during the just-concluded Sarawak state election.
In citing an internal source from Wisma Darul Ehsan, the report stated that this was seen as the most accurate step to teach the meaning of democracy to the Sarawak state government, which was seen as practising a closed-door policy similar to North Korea during the Sarawak state election.
The report further mentioned that any Sarawak BN leaders who wanted to enter Selangor during the Sungai Besar by-election would have to write an application letter to obtain permission to enter Selangor, adding that only those who are given permission can enter Selangor during the by-election.
