Jabu steps down as PBB deputy president

Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang is stepping down as the deputy president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

This was announced by Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is now the PBB president after chairing the first party meeting at PBB headquarters here today.

Abang Johari said Jabu had contributed a lot to PBB and would continue as an advisor to the party following his retirement.

PBB senior vice president Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has been named the acting deputy president to succeed Jabu.

Now that Abang Johari is president of PBB, his former deputy president post that is vacant will be filled by Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan.

Abang Johari said Awang Tengah is now the acting deputy president as the post had to go through a party election rather than appointment.

Prior to being named the acting deputy president, Awang Tengah was a senior vice president of PBB.
